MICPA CONVERSION PROGRAMME (MCP) FOR-NON ACCOUNTING GRADUATES

The Faculty of Business & Accountancy, University of Malaya (UM) in collaboration with The Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) is offering a programme specifically designed for non-accounting students and graduates who are interested to pursue a career as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Accountant (CA). This specially-tailored MICPA Conversion Programme (MCP) qualifies you for the joint MICPA-CAANZ Programme offered by MICPA and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ). The MICPA–CAANZ Programme provides its graduates with a dual qualification – Certified Public Accountant, Malaysia (CPA (M)) and Chartered Accountant, Australia and New Zealand (CA (ANZ)).
Our 12-month Conversion Programme consists of modules in accounting, business, finance, law, taxation and auditing. Similar programmes are offered by a number of institutions in Australia to enable graduates in other disciplines to fulfil the educational requirements for entry into the CA Programme.

MCP Eligibility Requirement
The eligibility criteria for MCP are as follows:
  • Must be matured, academically motivated, willing to broaden their horizons, seeking new experience or challenge, and independent
  • Must have basic English Language proficiency (it is an added advantage as courses are conducted in English)
  • Must either be currently in the 4th year of their degree or graduated from recognised Universities in or outside of Malaysia
  • Must have strong Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA)
Note: Exemptions will be granted to students on a case-by-case basis
MCP Fee
RM 1,200.00 per module / candidate Note: Programme Fee excludes transportation, meals and accommodation and is inclusive of 6% GST. All fees are due in full before the start of the Programme.
MCP Application Process
Apply for the Programme at least three (3) months prior to the commencement date as stated in the Programme schedule. The application process is as follows:
